Whiteová si nenárokuje na to, že ona má pravdu. Hovorí, že Duch Svätý jedine odhaľuje pravdu ukrytú v Biblii, v tomto prípade ide o pravdu o nebeskej svätyni 60 rokov starú. Jej úlohou bolo jedine túto pravdu, ktorá jej bola pred 60 rokmi ukázana, zapísať - zvečniť - vo svojej knihe.

Spoločenstvá oddaných mužov a žien sa pre tento účel stretávali. Moc Boha prišla na mňa a jasne som rozoznala čo je pravda a čo je omyl.

Takže ani náznak o tom, že by si nárokovala veľkosť, neomyľnosť, nesmrteľnosť. Pravdu zjavil svojej služobníčke Duch Svätý a ona túto zapísala.

Sport, jízdy na kole
Obraťme se k jiné scéně. V ulicích města se sešla parta, aby závodila na kole. V této společnosti jsou též takoví, kteří se hlásí k Bohu a Ježíši Kristu, kterého On poslal. Ale kdo by si pomyslil, přihlížeje tomuto vzrušujícímu závodění, že ti, kteří se takto staví na obdiv, jsou následovníci Kristovi? Kdo by se jen domníval, že některý z této party cítí potřebu Krista? Kdo by si pomyslil, že uznávají cenu svého času a své tělesné síly za dary od Boha, které jim svěřil, aby je uchovali pro Jeho službu? Kdo pomýšlí na nebezpečí úrazu, nebo že by smrt mohla býti výsledkem jejich divoké štvanice? Kdo prosil Ježíše o Jeho přítomnost, kdo prosil o ochranu andělů strážných? Je Bůh oslavován tímto představením? Satan hraje hru o život a těmito dušemi a raduje se z toho, co vidí a slyší.

Bicykel v kontexte doby
Ellen White píše o cyklistických závodoch 19 storočia negatívne. Kto si pod tým predstavuje že je proti zelenej doprave ako ju poznáme dnes, nevšíma si kontext doby a dochádza ľahko k absurdným záverom.
Ceny bicyklov boli vtedy extrémne vysoké, cyklisti mali špeciálnu módu, životný štýl a vybavenie, preteky boli vtedy nebezpečné a išlo o zranenie či o život. Aspoñ z pohľadu starej pani. Paralelu, snáď trochu prehnanú, snáď nie, v dnešnej dobe si možno predstaviť keď pomyslíme na ilegálne závody tunerov na našich cestách.
Kresťan musí vedieť princípy aplikovať na každú dobu a situáciu, nie byť otrokom historickej litery.

Bombastickě objavy o Whiteovej
Vlastne vôbec nejde zo strany kritikov o bombastické objavy o Whiteovej ale o známe a často o nevyvážené a z kontextu spisu či doby vytrhnuté veci. Na väčšinu z nich existuje i obhajoba zo strany inštitútu.Tak i v prípade cyklistických závodov.

Money was spent to gratify an enthusiasm in this direction that might better, far better, have been invested in building houses of worship where they are greatly needed. . . . A bewitching influence seemed to be passing as a wave over our people. . . . Satan works with intensity of purpose to induce our people to invest their time and money in gratifying supposed wants. This is a species of idolatry. . . . While hundreds are starving for bread, while famine and pestilence are seen and felt, . . . shall those who profess to love and serve God act as did the people in the days of Noah, following the imagination of their hearts?
"There were some who were striving for the mastery, each trying to excel the other in the swift running of their bicycles. There was a spirit of strife and contention among them as to which should be the greatest. . . . Said my Guide: 'These things are an offense to God. Both near and afar off souls are perishing for the bread of life and the water of salvation.' When Satan is defeated in one line, he will be all ready with other schemes and plans which will appear attractive and needful, and which will absorb money and thought, and encourage selfishness, so that he can overcome those who are so easily led into a false and selfish indulgence."

Najhorší baseballový trěner všetkých čias
Je bezpochyby Whiteová. Súťaženie a snahu o výhru zavrhla ako hriešnu. Jej tím by nikdy nevyhral. Táto jej rada skutočne neobstála , aj keď niečo do seba zrejme má. Naše zbory hrajú rady kolektívne hry. Pravda je že nie kvôli víťazstvu ale kvôli radosti z hry a pohybu a spoločnosti. No je dôležité sa naučiť i vyhrávať a prehrávať.

Bez úsmevu
V kontexte videné, problém asi nebol vo športe ale v tom vtipkovaní a radosti okolo neho. Ja tu stojím proti tejto jej rade a takému nastaveniu do života. Zastávala to čomu hovor íme prudérna výchova.

It is in keeping with our faith to be sober, watch unto the end, for the grace to be brought unto us at the revelation of Jesus Christ....
